Sparkle is a celebration of gender diversity, an opportunity to make new friends and obtain help, support and information on gender issues. But above all it is our chance to be proud and show the world what being TG is all about.

Sparkle is a weekend festival of all things transgender, with a fun mix of both social and support activities. Includes talks, workshops, meals, clubs, information and so much more.

Manchester Pride is Manchester’s annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) festival that is held over the August bank holiday weekend. It has traditionally been a fundraiser for the LGBT and AIDS/HIV communities and is the only Pride event in the UK that has consistently done so.

Between 2003 and 2006 Manchester Pride Ltd worked with Operation Fundraiser (the Lesbian and Gay Foundation and George House Trust joint fundraising body) to deliver Manchester Pride and has raised over £450,000 that has been distributed to over 100 LGBT and AIDS/HIV groups and charities in Greater Manchester.

In 2007 Manchester Pride realised the long-term vision of becoming a charity in its own right and Operation Fundraiser ‘hung up its buckets’. Manchester Pride 2007 successfully raised £95,000 for charity – despite costs and expenditure doubling since 2004.
